"Gist" machine translation vs Next generation translation

The table below shows an example of the difference between translating a document from French into English without a dictionary("gist" machine translation) and the translation after applying a dictionary(Next generation translation).

The document is a list of actions agreed at a meeting between an English property developer and his French builder to finish the development of a property. In this case applying the customer's own dictionary was essential in delivering a translation that could be used for practical purposes and which enabled the building project to be finished.

As you will see the translation before dictionaries were applied is inaccurate and confusing - so much so that the document was unusable. However, after applying dictionaries, whilst the translation wasn't perfect, the document was perfectly usable.

The dictionary was derived from the customer's own data using Translution dictionary creation services.
