FAQs - Troubleshooting

Outlook Add-in

I sent a mail to a person from my Global Address List, but it did not get translated. What is the problem?

If you are a Translution Pro or Translution Business Standard edition user, please make sure that you are selecting the contact from the Outlook Address Book and not the Global Address List.

Word Add-in

How do I get my translated Word document?

If the document save popup has not automatically appeared then please take the following steps:

1. Open up the Translution Control Centre (TCC) from the Start Menu, or by double click on TCC icon in tray at bottom right of screen.

2. Select the Job Status tab. When the status has changed to 'downloaded' the document is ready for use.

3. Double click on the left hand-side of the row in the Job Status list to bring up an Open or Save popup window.

By selecting the Notify me immediately a translation is completed option in the TCC Properties you will be notified of Word translations without having to access the TCC again.

I sent a document for translation, but did not receive the translation.

In MS Word in the Tools -> Options -> Security tab you may set a password to open your word document. If this is enabled, the Translution central site will not be able to access the document in order to translate it. You must make sure this feature is disabled before sending a document for translation.

2. From same menu, uncheck the Lock the toolbars option if not already unchecked.

Translution Dictionary Manager (TDM)

I have entered entries into the dictionary but they are not being used in my translations. What should I do?

Check that the dictionary has been compiled correctly by taking the following steps:

1. Open up the Translution Dictionary Manager (TDM) from the Translution options in the Start – All Programs Menu.

2. Enter your email address and password to start TDM.

3. Select the Compilations option from the Utilities menu at the top of the TDM screen.

4. Select the View Logs option from the Compilations menu, and check that the latest dictionary has been compiled successfully and downloaded.

5.If the latest dictionary has not been compiled, then compile it now by selecting the Compile Dictionary option from the Compilations menu. Then press the Compile button. Compilation of the dictionary may take some time, but you can view progress via the View Logs option from the Compilations menu.

Finally, if your dictionary entry is still not being used within your email or document translations then there may be a problem with the dictionary entry itself. Please check the source and target language text, and their associated linguistic properties for mistakes. Make any necessary changes and re-compile the dictionary.
